Dear colleagues,

during the day a new release will be rolled out on all websites. In addition to the new version of TYPO3 12 (12.4.27) which brings important security changes and bug fixes, the following changes will be rolled out:

Usability Improvements

  • [ATTENTION]Unified Accordion Element: We have merged both existing Accordion Elements. You can now switch the Layout between default white and red/grey style inside the element. In addition to this we have increased the font-size, line-height and changed the color of the text. We kept the simpler option to edit the accordion element in order to increase the usability. Every element has automatically moved to the new option.

Functionality Enhancements

  • Improved Register-Tool: We have unified the usage of the registration tool for frontend users and made the following changes.
    • When a user wants to create a new account, the first name, last name, e-mail address, password and privacy policy terms are required from TYPO3. Additional fields can be added as well manually.
    • [ATTENTION] All Editors will receive an e-mail notification when a user creates a new account on your website. Afterwards this user needs to be assigned to a user group. This is important, so that you can control who is receiving access to the content. Please make sure that you define a process to determine who handles the assignments of the users, when you are working in a team with more editors on the same website.
    • To successfully sign in, the user just needs to enter the e-mail address and password.
    • E-Mails will be displayed in an ACO-Theme template

Accessibility Frontend Improvements

  • The font-color of the navigation menu has been changed from grey into black.

  • Latest Content Teaser in full width: The gradient and the ‘A’ letter icon of the full width latest content teaser has been deleted. The background color is pale blue now.
